Telecom Expense Management Industry Association Report Reveals More Than $29 Billion in Total Spend for Telecom Expense Manageme

MANASSAS, Va., March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Telecom Expense Management Industry Association (TEMIA)(http://www.temia.org/ ), the premiere organization for the telecom expense management industry, announced today that a total of more than $29 billion of wireless, voice and data telecom spend were under management in 2007 according to its inaugural spend metrics report. The report surveyed all thirty TEMIA member companies composed mainly of the world's largest TEM solutions providers.

According to former Aberdeen Group analyst Joe Basili, who is now a VP of research at AOTMP, business telecommunications expenses in the U.S. reached $350 billion last year, making telecom expense management equivalent to over eight percent of total business telecom expenses in the U.S. for 2007.

"The aggregate total number of $29 billion clearly illustrates that U.S. corporations believe that telecom expense management is an important investment that will help them increase their bottom line," said David Spofford, President of TEMIA. "Telecommunication's costs and inventory continue to provide a tremendous savings opportunity for business and government. Enterprises are increasingly seeking outside help from TEM service providers - whether in the form of technology to automate the control processes or a variety of service-based solutions, our members are delivering significant benefits to their clients."

Telecom expense management is one of the hottest growth sectors in the telecommunications industry according to Gartner, which estimated the TEM market will grow at a compound annual rate of almost 40% until 2010.

TEMIA, the Telecom Expense Management Industry Association, was founded in 2007 by the country's largest Telecom Expense Management (TEM) service providers. TEMIA's mission is to raise awareness and knowledge of the values and benefits of TEM solutions, to improve the quality and value of TEM solutions through the development and promotion of industry standards, and to share resources among TEM providers and their business partners.
